According to the study conducted at Barcelona Beta Brain Research Centre in Spain if an individual is active with some healthy lifestyle and exercise during the ages of 45-65 years; the probability of dementia becomes that much lesser later in age.
It really does not matter whether it is walking, jogging, cycling or swimming; but if it is consistently followed then the chances become that much better in favour of the individual.
