Surge of Covid Omicron JN1 variant in Singapore. China and HongKong. Need to be scared about?!
There is a report that amongst the south east Asian countries like HongKong and Singapore there is a surge of the Covid infections in most likelihood of the JN1 variant which also falls under the umbrella of the Omicron. In all likelihood there is likely to be a surge of this infection in both China and India in the days to come.
According to Dr.Vikas Maurya, Senior Director and Head of Pulmonology at Fortis Shalimar Bagh it could be due to the waning antibodies.
But the good news is that of all the people who have got infected, it has not lead to any serious illness or mortality. So this variant of interest is only capable of spreading very fast and causing mild illness and does not have the sting to cause any further damage.
Epidemiologists will study the mutations further but one thing that can be categorically said is that the common man can breathe easy and not bother about covid anymore for now!
