Amidst this the Director of Indian Council for Medical Research, Dr.Rajiv Behl has clarified on the 25th of May 2025 that the severity of the infections is mild and there is no cause for worry.
The variants may be of ’interest’ but have not caused any serious illness as of today that it is something to be acted upon right away. But the Director has promised that the situation is being watched closely and does not need any vaccines.
