The advantage is that usage of hearing aids reduces falls nearly by 30percent over a three year period according to a Lancet Public Health Journal. It is known that decline in mobility, response to stimuli, ability to understand things all reduces if there is hearing loss. And also there is increased number of falls due to hearing loss.
So it is imperative that the elderly use hearing aids as and when prescribed not just to reduce falls but also improve quality of life.
