Amongst the challenges in medicine today is that the antibiotics are running out of their efficacy. There are various reasons for us to have reached this stage when the world is on the look out for the upcoming antibiotics. But one of the reasons that is glaring is the fact that antibiotics are available over the counter and are inadvertently ‘self-prescribed’ to run through the problem. What happens is even when a trivial viral infection or a bacteria infection that may not address it can cause a situation wherein the body resists the work of the antibiotic in the future such infections.
A webinar was held by ETHealthworld recently on the topic of “Running out of Cures: A deep dive into India’s antimicrobial resistance crisis” wherein clinicians, researchers and public health expects were dwelling on many above such reasons for the crisis.
We the Homeopaths at Gouri Homeo or for that matter our fraternity itself treat many cases of viral and bacterial cases in the primary health care settings so that the need for antibiotics does not arise as much as possible. And when they are sparingly used, whenever their need comes they are that much more effective.
